Do you feel pressured to have sex?

After you have been with one person for so long you should be ready to have sex with them. Right? WRONG! In our society today, more and more teens are feeling like they should be having sex. A while back, sex was very taboo. Nobody really talked about it and it seemed as though there weren't as many problems with teens doing it. However, in the society's fight for openness it seems sex has become an inevitable side effect. Even teens who don't want to have sex, do it, because they feel more accepted.

If you don't feel like you are ready, then chances are, you're not. And you don't have to. Pregnant teens are becoming a more common, and frighteningly, a more acceptable occurence in high schools. You are a teen. You have your whole life ahead of you. Do you really want to become a mother or father at 16?

Pregnancy isn't the only con of sex. There are tons of sexually transmitted diseases, some of which are very harmful and can leave a girl unable to have children in the future. It isn't worth a night of fun.

If you are in a relationship and think you are in love, even then, sex isn't the answer! If you are with someone who won't accept you unless you have sex, then they aren't worth your time. That's what they were after, and if you ever had sex, they wouldn't stay around for long.

Look, the point is, you really only have one thing in the whole world you can control, and that is you. Be careful, make the right decisions, and one day you will look back and be proud, instead of looking back at a history of regrets. You are a wonderful and unique person as we all are. You don't need to have sex to be accepted. When you are really ready you will know it. Until then, be a teen! Have fun! And be safe!
